Route4 Logistics awarded HGV operator’s licence and expands fleet
We are delighted that Route4 Logistics has been awarded an operator’s licence and can now add Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV’s) to our fleet. This means we are now be able to carry out distribution services using both vans and lorries as the demand for transporting goods on a much larger scale continues to increase.
The goods vehicle operator licensing scheme is administered by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) on behalf of the traffic commissioners.
The decision to apply for an operator’s licence comes as a result of the growing need to meet the increasing demand from our customers, and we have already secured contractual work from a local charity for the next six months.
In order to meet the requirements of holding an operator’s licence, all drivers must have the correct licence and training to drive goods vehicles. All professional lorry drivers need to hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
As part of the plan to apply for the operator’s licence, Route4 Logistics has already signed the lease on two 7.5 tonne vehicles and will continually add more vehicles to our fleet in order to maintain high service levels and continually provide customers with a trustworthy logistics solutions service.
Mike Harris, Managing Director at Route4 Logistics said “This is an exciting time for Route4 and a huge step in the right direction for the continued progression of the business. Adding the operator’s licence to our list of accreditations will help us to expand the service offering on a much bigger scale.”
